a word about insurance

To allow our dentists to make unbiased decisions that are based solely on the best interests of our patients, we do not participate directly in any dental insurance provider networks. If you have dental insurance, your insurance company will allow you to choose the provider that best meets the needs of your child and we will file a claim on your behalf with most dental insurance carriers.

Delta Dental Insurance Changes...

We frequently get questions about how we handle dental insurance and what changes we've made over the past several months. In October of 2016 we elected not to renew our participation in the Premier Provider network of Delta Insurance Company. We believe this change was warranted to preserve the independence of our dentists. This change ONLY impacted our patients who are Delta Dental subscribers and had no effect on any other insurance carriers. If your dental insurance is Met Life, Aetna, or any other major provider, there is NO CHANGE to how your claims are submitted or your reimbursement rate. We are considered an out-of-network provider for all major insurance carriers.

Out-of-Network Explained...

The term "out-of-network" is often used by insurance companies when referring to medical providers who are not under contract. It's important to know that your insurance company DOES NOT PROHIBIT YOU FROM SEEING AN OUT-OF-NETWORK provider. However, the insurance claims process and reimbursement rates may be different. We will file a claim electronically on your behalf but will direct the insurance company to send reimbursement to the subscriber. We will collect a fee for service at the time of your office visit. Many insurance policies will reimburse 100% of your fees, but your rate will depend on your specific policy.

E-Claims Filing...

To speed the process of insurance claims filing and to help minimize the likelihood of clerical errors, we've adopted an E-Claims filing system that will submit claims to most insurance companies electronically. The E-Claims system dramatically reduces the amount of time it takes for most insurance companies to send your reimbursement. However, it's also important to ensure that all of your personal information is entered into our system correctly. Even a small error can cause a delay in your claims processing. Our office staff will be happy to provide you with a copy of you claim at the completion of your visit. Please contact us immediately if you discover any discrepancies.

Insurance policies and claims processing can often be confusing. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions. We are happy to work with you to help resolve any questions and alleviate any concerns.
